This three-story office building with street-level retail space was constructed in the historic U Street Corridor, one block from the famous Lincoln Theater and Ben’s Chili Bowl. The historic surroundings led to certain construction challenges, including significant underpinning on the adjacent 8-story condominium, sheeting and shoring at the street elevation, and dealing with an underground stream/flume that ran through the excavation. The project was completed in March 2002 to accommodating a number of notable tenants.
